  • Overview

    ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Cheese Production Specialist for an upcoming volunteer assignment in Kyrgyzstan. A small scale diary farmer is requesting volunteer assistance to provide trainings on techniques to produce quality artisanal cheeses. The selected volunteer will provide training on milk pasturization, skimming techniques, best practices in mixing ingrediants, as well as temperature and moisture control regimes. The assignment will last for approximately three weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living expenses will be provided.


    ***As part of the Farmer-to-Farmer Consortium, this assignment is made possible through USAID funding. In accordance to USAID guidelines, any candidates submitted for consideration under this project must have a valid US passport or Green Card.***


    Volunteer Qualifications:

    • University degree in food science, dairy processing, or related field
    • At least 10 years of experience dairy processing and cheese production
    • Proficient computer skills including MS Word and Excel
