Overview

ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Specialist in Geospatial Analysis for an upcoming Service Learning Corps Volunteer Assignment. ACDI/VOCA's Market Driven Rural Development Project is a five-year activity that will accelerate Tajikistan’s agriculture sector growth to enable inclusive access to economic opportunities in rural communities. They are requesting a Service-Learning Corps Volunteer to facilitate an applied workshop on geospatial analysis for informing development project learning and evidence- based decision making. The selected SLC volunteer would then work with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning staff in utilizing geospatial analysis for specific objectives that would inform project implementation.

This assignment will last for approximately 3 months and will be completed remotely. Students who have travel funding available to them through their school can be accommodated in country, if desired. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Ph.D. student or recent graduate in Geographic Information Science, Geospatial Science, or another related program.
  • Expertise (work or educational experience) in geospatial analysis.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, ArcGIS, Maptitude, Geosoft Target, etc. 
  • The volunteer should be available for some calls and meetings during normal Tajikistan business hours.
  • Previous experience visiting or working in Central Asia is preferred but not required.
