Overview

ACDI/VOCA seeks a specialist in Business Planning and Farm Management Sepcialist for a Volunteer Assignment in Kyrgyzstan. The selected Volunteer will collaborate with the host (an established university) to help equip students with essential entrepreneurial and farm management skills.

 

***As part of the Farmer-to-Farmer Consortium, this assignment is made possible through USAID funding. In accordance to USAID guidelines, any candidates submitted for consideration under this project must have a valid US passport or Green Card.***

 

This is a 2-week assignment is scheduled for October 2024.

 

Provisions for the Volunteer:

  • All international and local travel
  • All lodging
  • A per diem to cover meals and incidentals
  • Travel Visa (if applicable)
  • Emergency Medical Evacuation Insurance
  • In-country support from field office staff
  • Local cell phone to use during assignment (if needed)

Responsibilities

The selected Volunteer will will train BA and MA students how to create and run small-scale business. They will help students develop clear objectives, risk assessment capabilities, and personal development strategies. This Volunteer Assignment aims to prepare future business owners, entrepreneurs, and farm managers. The selected Volunteer will be a vital part in shaping the next generation of innovators in Kyrgyzstan’s business and agricultural sectors.

 

While in-country, the Volunteer will:

  • Planning for large-scale businesses
  • Development of marketing strategies
  • Provision of different examples of planning small-scale and large-scale sustained businesses
  • Evaluate and assess productivity of the training program provided

Qualifications

 

  • University degree in Business Management, Farm Management or a related field
  • At least 5 years practical work experience
  • Ability to work with individuals and groups on business skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous international experience a plus
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and apps like Zoom, WhatsApp, Facebook Etc.
