ACDI/VOCA seeks a specialist in Stone Fruit Orchard Management for a Volunteer Assignment in Tajikistan. The selected Volunteer will collaborate with the Host to conduct extensive training for local farmers on pruning and grafting stone fruit trees.

This is a 2-week assignment, scheduled for November 2024. 

Provisions for the Volunteer:

• A per diem to cover meals and incidentals

• In-country support from field office staff
• Local cell phone to use during assignment (if needed)

While in-country, the Volunteer will:

Travel to different orchards to teach all aspects of fruit orchard management to the local farmers including all aspects of young plant husbandry:

• grafting
• budding
• fertilization
• irrigation
• pruning

• University degree in Agriclture, Horticulture, or a related field
• At least 5 years relevant work experience
• Practical experience in young stone fruit husbandry
• Excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous international experience a plus
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and apps like Zoom, WhatsApp, Facebook Etc.
