ACDI/VOCA seeks a specialist in Mobile App Development for a Service Learning Corps Volunteer Assignment in Tajikistan. The selected Volunteer will collaborate with the host to develop and design a mobile application for an agribusiness company (consulting service, capacity building, input supply & marketing, research & development program, etc.). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mobile/web application development technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating visually appealing and functional applications.

This is a 3-month assignment, scheduled for Spring or Summer of 2025. The selected volunteer will travel to Tajikistan for 2 weeks and will volunteer remotely before and after that trip.

Develop several specialized applications, each catering to distinct aspects of the cooperative's services, including but not limited to:

• Integrate all individuals onto a single platform, making it accessible to users under the organization’s umbrella, providing a seamless user experience, through a centralized platform
• Develop a marketplace site to facilitate online transactions for means of production, products, and consulting
• Create a dedicated application for online, digital consultations, utilizing information from other sites, such as weather data and client coordinates
• Integrate educational content and online courses

• Graduate/Ph.D. student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Expertise in web/mobile app development
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js,and libraries like jQuery/Proficiency in CMS apps such as WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla
• Experience with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
• Knowledge of application security principles and methods to protect against common attacks
