ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Tourism Specialist for an upcoming volunteer assignment in Armenia on Agritourism Development. Local agribusinesses are requesting volunteer assistance to develop the skills needed to implement agri-tours, an overview of agritourism, implementing agritourism-related workshops,turning agricultural activities into additional income for farmers, providing guide services through technical assistance/expertise, first aid, skills needed to develop agritourism packages as well as promoting agritourism in different channels.  This assignment will take place remotely and in collaboration with a local Agritourism Volunteer. The assignment will last for approximately 2 weeks for the selected volunteer (on a part time basis), spread over multiple weeks when the local volunteer will be working with the host community.  ***As part of the Farmer-to-Farmer Consortium, this assignment is made possible through USAID funding. ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a specialist in Soil Science and Land Management for an upcoming volunteer assignment in Tunisia. The FARMER Project is requesting volunteer assistance to provide training on best practices in soil health, soil/water relationship and climate smart agriculture. The selected volunteer will visit four agricultural training centers around Tunisia to train extension staff on these topics. The volunteer will also provide recommendations on open source platforms for day-to-day farm management. The assignment will last for approximately 2 weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research prior to departure. Travel and living expenses will be provided.

ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Value Chain and Risk Management specialist for an upcoming volunteer assignment in Honduras. The Transforming Market Systems Project is requesting volunteer assistance to assess the local value chain for recycling plastics, identify potential social risks and provide recommendations on ethical practices. The selected volunteer will work with TMS staff to analyze the potential risks at small collection centers and identify risk mitigation measures. If time allows, the selected volunteer will also develop a Code of Ethics for the local recycling centers. The assignment will last for approximately four to five weeks in total with some work done remotely followed by in person travel to Honduras. Travel and living expenses will be provided.

ACDI/VOCA’s Feed the Future Bangladesh Livestock and Nutrition (LAN) Activity requests volunteer assistance to increase the marketability of livestock products at the subnational and national levels. Many farmers are using strong structural support suspensions in their vineyards, which provides shade during hotter weather and makes it easier to harvest fruits without ladders.   Due to the current pandemic, international travel has been postponed until further notice. They currently grow and dry plums and apricots but they would like to expand to include apples, pears, tomato, peppers and eggplant.  Due to the current pandemic, international travel has been postponed until further notice.
